Although Dahmer claimed to have “had normal friendships in high school” and “a good social life”, a member of his social group, John Backderf, said that he was merely amused by Dahmer’s propensity for bizarre pranks and jokes and had no desire to forge a close friendship with him. Backderf characterized Dahmer as “creepy” and made it a point to avoid socializing with him outside of school. Classmate Mike Kukral was similarly amused by Dahmer, but also failed to get close to him. “No one really knew what was going on in his mind,” Kukral said. “He didn’t open up to anybody.” A cashier at the Eastview Junior High School cafeteria recalled that Dahmer joined others at the tables to eat, but always left the cafeteria alone. Dahmer’s difficult personality and inability to trust others left him friendless by the end of high school. “I really hadn’t any close friendships after that, after high school. I just sort of lived in my own thought life, fantasy world,” Dahmer said in a 1993 interview.

Morgan groaned in annoyance, trying to squirm away
from him, because as much as she  hated  to  admit
he was right about anything at the  moment, he  was.
And a part of her was disgusted by  it,  because even
though she had absolutely no  feelings  of  attraction
for   him,   she   was   almost  disappointed  that  his
actions were only another way  of  mocking  her. Her
stomach churned and she elbowed  him in  the  ribs
for  good  measure.

❝ You’re an asshole, and you smell like
a  distillery. You  should  shower. ❞

She’s upset, but there’s no real venom in her voice.

❝ And, you wish I were that easy. What
are you doing out here anyway? ❞

image

"Ooh, oh, ouch,“ he taunted and put a hand to
his chest, feigning pain. "God, Morgan, you know,
that really fuckin’ hurt. I think you owe me an apology
or something for those hurtful words.” In an outright
contradiction, Jeffrey was still laughing. As if he had
any reason to wish she was easy.

The fact of the matter was she was that easy.
Enough to make even him worry sometimes, with the
scum they tended to hang out with, it would be a
shame to see anything too serious happen to her
too soon. But in response to her question, Jeffrey
shrugged. “I don’t know. Looking for a date, I guess.”

❝ What the fuck, Jeff?! ❞

She whips around, comically angry, more adorable
than   even  remotely  threatening.  She  slaps  him
hard   against   the   chest  and  crosses  her  arms,
pouting  aggressively. She fails to see the humor in
the situation, seeing how it’s at her expense.

❝ You can’t just do that! Jesus. ❞

image

Even with the anger she put on for show, Jeff’s smile
had yet to diminish. Her slap does little to pull a reaction
from him save a halfhearted dodge.

"You sure?“ he asks, a brow raised. "Kinda seemed
like ya liked it.” They both knew about her disgusting
fancies, and this could have easily been something
along those lines.

He’s not entirely sober, which may account for his
lack of inhibitions with this next action. Stepping
close again, Jeff forces her to turn around and
punctuates his next point by thrusting his hips hard
against her ass.

"Coulda taken you right here and you wouldn’t
have said a fucking thing,“ he points out before
laughing again and letting her go.

She’s trying to find her car in the parking lot at
three   in   the   morning    when   it    happens.
Morgan lets out a noise in shock as the  hand
clasps over her mouth.  She has no idea who
the hand belongs to and her spine goes rigid,
her   body  freezing  up,  except  for  her  arms
which   flap    wildly   about,  her  hands  trying
frantically to pull  the  hand  away.  A  perfectly
normal reaction, if only the noise she’d made
hadn’t  sounded  so  akin  to  a  moan.

A laugh bubbles in Jeff’s throat, deep at first,
but then he becomes hysterical and it morphs into
something a bit more farcical. Jeff pulls the hand
away from her mouth and pinches her side play-
fully before stepping back. He’s still laughing.
"Oh, God, Morgan. You’re hilarious, you know
that? I mean, did you hear yourself just then?“
